Dreaming of a bird

Birds are messengers in Akan thought, the Sankofa bird itself teaches by looking back while moving forward. A bird arriving is read as news coming; a bird in flight as freedom or elevation of status. A bird entering the house is watched closely, as the message is then for the household.

Birds carry both providence, being fed without sowing, and the Spirit descending as a dove. Such dreams are commonly read as reassurance of being watched over.
