Dreaming of fire

Controlled fire, a hearth, a lamp, is life and gathering. Fire that consumes a house or farm warns of a threat to provision or reputation that spreads if unchecked.

Fire is both refining and judgement in scripture. A fire that purifies without destroying points to testing you will pass through; one that consumes calls for urgent attention.

Fire is read carefully in the Ibn Sirin tradition: a contained, useful fire that gives light or cooks is favourable, while fire that spreads and consumes is a warning about discord, or about a matter that will damage if left unchecked.

Fire is the classic image of anger, passion and transformation, energy that either warms or destroys depending on containment. Recurrent destructive fire often accompanies suppressed anger.

Intense, high-arousal imagery like fire appears more often after emotionally charged days and in disrupted sleep. What matters diagnostically is whether the fire was controlled or consuming, which tends to mirror how contained your stress feels.
