Dreaming of a funeral

Ayie gathers the whole family, so the dream often concerns the family as a body rather than any death. Traditionally it is read as an ending being marked and, sometimes, as long life for the person seen buried.

Burial in scripture precedes resurrection and new beginning. The dream is commonly read as a season closing so another can open, not as a prediction of death.

Funerals are read as a reminder of the hereafter and a call to prepare, and sometimes as the ending of a matter. They are not treated as omens of an actual death.

Endings and grief work. The funeral image often marks a role, relationship or identity you are letting go of.
