Dreaming of a phone call

A call is a message seeking you. Not being able to hear, or the line cutting, carries the same meaning as the older image of being called from across water: guidance is offered but something blocks the hearing.

Being called by name runs throughout scripture, and the response asked for is to listen. Read as a prompt to attend to something you have been ignoring.

A summons or message in a dream is read as news arriving, or as a call toward a matter requiring your response.

Phones now appear routinely in dreams, and unanswered calls correlate with real interpersonal tension and with heavy notification load before sleep.
